On October 21st, Garden & Gun’s newest book, Good Dog: True Stories of Love, Loss and Loyalty, hits the shelves. My essay, inspired by Simon (aka, The General, shown here in all his glory on his favorite chair) will be among the more than fifty by notable authors such as Roy Blount, Jr., Julia Reed, Rick Bragg, Clyde Edgerton and PJ O’Rourke. I’m humbled and thrilled — and can’t wait to get my paws on it.
